3. The value of a machine depreciates 20% every year. If the present value of the machine be

     Rs 160000 . What was its value last year ?  

4. The marked price of a water cooler is Rs 4650 . The shopkeeper offers an off-season discount

     of 18% on it . Find its selling price.

5. The value of a car including VAT is Rs 382500. If the basic price of the car be Rs 340000. Find

     the rate of VAT on car ?  

6. Find the amount and the compound interest when P= Rs 62500 , R= 12% and T= 2 years 6

     months compounded annually .

7. Mr . Raman purchased a video for Rs 20000 and a television for Rs 30000 . On the video he lost

    5% and on the television he gain 8% . Find his total gain or loss percent.

8. The difference between the Compound interest and simple interest on a certain sum for 3

     years at 10% per annum is Rs 93. Find the sum .
